B.1What we do
Questarne reviews adventure games and role-playing games for players and families in the UK. We only write about games we have played to the credits, over many evenings, and every review gives a typical sitting, where to stop, who it suits, who can talk to you, what it sells once you are playing and how comfortable it is to play.
B.2Why a hand of cards?
Because a card is honest about itself. It prints what it costs and when its effect ends, right on its face. Most games keep both a secret, so we print them: every quest in our deck shows the time it takes in crystals and the save point where its turn ends.
B.3Who writes the reviews
A small team of long-time players of adventures, role-playing games and card games, together with parents who set up the family controls on every platform we mention.
B.4How the site is paid for
Not by anyone in the games business. There are no adverts, affiliate links, sponsored reviews or products for sale. We host no games, run no accounts and take no payments.
B.5Conflicts of interest
If a reviewer has a personal or professional link to a game or studio, someone else writes the review and it says so. We accept no gifts, trips or early copies in exchange for coverage.
B.6The artwork
Every art window is an original illustration made for Questarne in that game’s own visual style: neon pixels for one, watercolour for another, ink-lined painting for a third. None of it is official artwork, a screenshot or a real person. Our star-and-card emblem is our own.
B.7Why UK English?
British spelling, UK age labels and UK support services. No pop-ups, no autoplaying video or sound and no tracking of any kind.
B.8Corrections
